Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)/DUO

Users must self-enroll in UTORMFA to access University web services, such as Employee Self-Service (ESS).

  • For added protection, the University of Toronto introduced a two-step sign-in security process known as multi/two-factor authentication solution (UTORMFA), which must be used to access many U of T online platforms.
  • UTORMFA verifies your identity using a second factor, like a mobile device or hardware token, to ensure that only you can log in to your account. Users download the Cisco DUO App to do this.

How to Enroll in UTORMFA/DUO:

  1. Ensure you have your cell phone or mobile device beside you when you start the enrollment process.
  2. Go to the following website: UTORMFA | Information Security and Enterprise Architecture (utoronto.ca) and follow the steps.

For any issues enrolling in UTORMFA and downloading the Cisco DUO software, please contact the Help Desk help.desk@utoronto.ca
