Access Employee Self-Service (ESS) for T4s and Paystubs

If you are an active employee (have worked/received pay in the last three months) you can access ESS for T4s and paystubs.  Every year, T4s are available on ESS in the last week of February (they are not mailed to active employees).

  • Login to Employee Self-Service (ESS) here, ESS, using your UTORid and password (you must have UTORMFA/Duo installed on your mobile device to access ESS.
  • For your T4, go to My HR Self-Service, under Pay and Benefits Information, and click on “Tax Slip”.
  • Forgotten passwords can be reset here reset password or by contacting the Help Desk help.desk@utoronto.ca First Floor, Robarts Library, 416-978-4357 (if the reset link does not work).
  • If you are experiencing issues logging into ESS, please contact the Help Desk help.desk@utoronto.ca.
T4 slip

If you are an inactive employee (have not worked/received pay in the last 3 months) you will not have online access to ESS for T4s and paystubs.  Your T4 will be mailed to you by central payroll in the last week of February.

  • Your mailing address must be up to date with the SPP prior to February.
  • Employees who have not received their T4 in the mail by the third week in March can request it from central payroll payroll.hr@utoronto.ca

Requests should include:

  • First and Last name, as recorded on your SIN record
  • Personnel number (listed on your UTORid Letter)
  • Date of birth (YYYY-MM-DD)
  • Phone Number
  • Email - provide a valid email address
