UTORid, Personnel Number, and Password Reset

  • The UTORid is a permanent credential that is issued to University of Toronto degree students, alumni, faculty members, and staff members to access campus-wide services and resources.
  • All new employees receive a UTORid letter shortly after they are hired.
  • The UTORid letter contains your UTORidPersonnel Number and activation code.
  • The letter has instructions on how to:
    • Activate the UTORid
    • Access Employee Self-Service (ESS) for T4s and pay statements
    • Obtain a Tcard (U of T ID card), which is optional.
  • You must activate your UTORid, create a password, generate a U of T email address here and install multi-factor authentication software (MFA/DUO - here) to access U of T online platforms, including Employee Self-Service and email.
  • Contact the SPP if you need a copy of your UTORid letter to view your UTORid and activation code if you have not already activated your UTORid.
